What’s in an Elite Trainer Box
Recent Elite Trainer Boxes, from the Scarlet & Violet and Mega Evolution eras, usually include:
- 9 booster packs from the set
- a full-art promo card
- 65 card sleeves
- 45 Energy cards
- a player’s guide to the set
- damage-counter dice and a coin-flip die
- a storage box with dividers for your cards
Sword & Shield era boxes had 8 booster packs instead of 9.

Is an Elite Trainer Box worth it?
It depends what you want. Per pack, an ETB costs about £5.55, more than a booster bundle (£4.33 a pack) or a booster box (£4.22 a pack). What you get for the extra is the promo card, the sleeves, the dice and a box to keep your cards in. That makes ETBs popular as gifts and with collectors who keep them sealed.
How to get one at RRP
- Pre-order early. ETBs for big sets often sell out on pre-order. Pokémon pre-orders UK.
- Get pinged when they restock. Galar Alerts posts ETB restocks from UK shops the moment they can be bought.
